Cambridge A2 German tutor

Looking for a person for the following teaching/tutoring opportunity.

A person with a British / Cambridge background would be great – but not a requirement – to prepare two young adults (Kirstin, 20 years, and Christopher, 18 years) for Cambridge A2 German exams at the end of 2022. Both are fluent German speakers and achieved 95% and 94% respectively in their Cambridge AS exams in 2021 (which were largely oral). The A2 exam will cover German reading, writing and speaking with an emphasis on grammar... so will require a fair amount of preparation.

Please contact Alexandra Töniges (German Language Adviser) on +64 27 261 4279 or a.toniges@auckland.ac.nz.

Free books in German about Hildesheim and Obernkirchen!

My mother was born in Hildesheim, Germany in 1929 and has lived in New Zealand since the age of nine. After her narrow brush with history, Mum’s family set up business here and our family has now been established in Auckland for four generations. After much pain and heartache having been exiled, I’m proud to say that both the town that my mother was born in and my grandfather‘s hometown were very open to re-establish contact and we have made many trips to both places. The bond is very strong.

We have approximately half a dozen very good books in German about Hildesheim and Obernkirchen to donate. Please contact Deb at debfiller@gmail.com or 02108433557 if you’re interested.
